There is always a lesson to be learnt from failure.
Look for that lesson.
And learn it.
Suddenly, you’ll find success sitting beside you.
Winking at you.
– Swapan Seth

A few days back I read a small book—This Is All I Have To Say by Swapan Seth. I finished reading it in about 30 minutes. But it made me think for many days. The saying ‘small is beautiful’ is very true in this case.

It is a small book—even though the book is 95 pages long, half of it are chapter opening pages and some pages contains only a very few lines. The typesetting (page layout) is interesting, refreshing, and tasteful.

The book contains Seth’s observations, opinions and advice on a variety of topics like love, failure, friends, success, marriage, brotherhood, parents, giving, peace, God, trust, grace, passion, helping, responsibility, knowledge, leadership, ambition, and money.

The prose is lyrical and what is being conveyed is profound. It is a book that will make you think and enrich you with sensible, sound, and practical advice that will help you in having a more fulfilling life.

Here is a sample of his take on friends (On Friends):

I measure a man by the friends he has.
Your friends tell the world who you are.
Which is why, pick them with caution.
And flaunt them with pride.
Pick rich friends.
Rich in intellect.
Rich in integrity.
Rich in experiences.
Rich in enthusiasm.
Rich in talents.
Pick big minds.
People who can make you small.
There is a certain kind of rush you feel when you
get dwarfed by a friend. I find the intellect of my
friends inspiring.

Get a copy; read it; reflect on it; and make changes in your life. You won’t regret it.
