From the best-selling author of The Firm, The Client and The Runaway Jury comes another thriller-The Brethren. This time it is about an ingenious extortion plot hatched and executed by three former judges. These convicted judges are now serving in a minimum security federal prison and it is from that prison that they conceive, plan and execute their plot. Their plan works and they money began to pour in as the number of victims increases. But one of their victims happens to have very powerful and dangerous friends-friends having unlimited funds, connections, and resources, people capable of overthrowing governments.
Grisham has, as usual done his research well. This novel takes you through the power centers of Washington and you come across people who have the power to control the President senators and other political leaders. The novel is fast paced and the narrative is excellent. As usual Grisham has produced a very readable novel.
